According to journalists, ATACMS will not be part of a new arms package for Ukraine, which is expected to be announced on Thursday, September 21. The United States will not provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a long range of ATACMS missiles in the near future, despite the requests of President Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated by an unnamed American official, writes CNN.

According to the source, ATACMS will not be part of a new arms package for Ukraine, which is expected to be announced on Thursday, September 21, when Zelensky and the head of the White House Joe Biden will meet in Washington. However, as journalists noted, the head of the US Army Procurement Department of the USA Bush said that the final decision on ATACMS has not yet been made. "In the end, this power belongs to the President," Bush said.

According to him, the army provides data to persons who have power. Therefore, they will make this decision at the right level. Bush noted that there are different versions of ATACMS missiles. The number of missiles in the US army is not a limiting factor. The specimens transferred to Kiev will be replaced by newer versions. Bush said that if the administration still decides to transfer missiles to Ukraine, then the army is ready to do so quickly.

Earlier, the media reported that the US profile agencies approved the supply of ATACMS to Ukraine. According to journalists, the US President can still refuse to transfer the tactical long -range missile system to Ukraine. It was also reported that Zelensky appreciated the counter -offensive of the Armed Forces and the possible delivery of ATACMS missiles.
