The US will not go to agreement with Russia as long as aggression against Ukraine is ongoing - the State Department

To spread: the United States does not plan to make any arrangements with the Russian Federation and will not consider the abolition of sanctions until the termination of hostilities in Ukraine. This was stated by US State Department Temmy Bruce on April 15 during a briefing. His text appeared on the White House website. "No compromises, no negotiations, as long as this terrible war continues," she said, commenting on Washington's position on any possible agreements with the Kremlin.

Bruce was especially emphasized on a recent rocket strike on Sumy, which occurred on Palm Sunday, April 13. According to her, such actions only increase doubts that Russia is interested in a truce. "There should be more questions about who actually seeks peace and ceasefire," Bruce said. At the same time, the State Department spokeswoman said that the US continues to work on diplomatic initiatives aimed at ceasefire, but the situation remains critical.

She described the war in Ukraine as a "meat grinder" that does not show any changes. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that discussions in the White House have been continuing whether sanctions against the Russian Federation should be strengthened in order to plant it at the negotiating table.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Presidential Advisor, Kit Kelloggi, during a meeting with Donald Trump, were called for caution in relations with the Kremlin and to a more rigid position, in particular in the context of Russia's requirements for Ukraine for concessions. However, according to WSJ sources, Trump supports his special representative Steve Witcoff, who after two visits to Moscow said that Putin was ready for a peace agreement.
