Mass shelling of Ukraine: what were the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and how many rockets were intercepted by the Armed Forces

This was reported in the Press Center of the Armed Forces. According to preliminary data, the enemy released 99 goals throughout Ukraine. Of these, 72 were destroyed by the forces and means of Ukraine in cooperation with the defense units. "On the night of January 2, 2024, the enemy repeated a massive attack by means of air attacks of different types, as it was a few days ago - December 29, 2023," - said in the Air Force.

The first wave of attacks began with the launch of Shahanedov on the night of January 2. All 35 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed. Early in the morning, the enemy involved strategic aviation-Tu-95MC bombers. Sixteen aircraft reached the launch line around 6:00 am, releasing at least 70 winged air base missiles X-101/X-555/X-55. From 07:30, ten aerobalist missiles X-47M2 "dagger" of the MiG-31K fighters were recorded.

In addition, the enemy had an attack from the sea with the help of three winged "Caliber" missiles and from the north-12 rockets that followed the ballistic trajectory of the "Iskander-M/S-300/C-400". From the Su-35 tactical aviation aircraft, four anti-radiological missiles X-31P were used. As already noted, the defenders of the Ukrainian sky destroyed 72 out of 99 issued goals: thus, the enemy lost more than 2/3 of the goals issued throughout Ukraine during the air attack.

We will remind, in the morning on January 2 the Russians carried out a massive shelling of Ukraine. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used rockets and shock drones. The air forces warned about the activation of almost two dozen Russian aircraft T-95MC. Later it became known about the launches of "dagger" missiles. The explosions were heard in Kiev and the region, as well as in Kharkiv.
