Updated Nuclear Doctrine: The Kremlin threed to answer in case of blows by Western missiles

Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that aggression against the Russian Federation by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of nuclear, will be considered as a joint attack on Russia. Russia can use nuclear weapons in response to Ukraine's use of Western non -nuclear missiles, including US ATCMS. This involves the updated nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation, approved by Vladimir Putin.

This was stated by Russian Presidential President Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday, November 19. "The Russian Federation reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression with the use of ordinary weapons against it or the Republic of Belarus, which poses a critical threat to sovereignty or territorial integrity," he said.

Putin's spokesman added that "aggression against the Russian Federation by any non-nuclear state with the participation or with the support of nuclear is regarded as a joint attack. " Peskov noted that Russia is allegedly holding a "responsible position" of nuclear restraint and seeks to reduce the level of global nuclear threat.

We will remind, on November 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the updated nuclear doctrine, signing the decree "On approval of the foundations of the state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of nuclear restraint". The document provides for the use of nuclear weapons by Russia not only in response to a nuclear attack, but also in the event of a critical threat of sovereignty or territorial integrity of the country by the usual means of attack.
