Eastern Storm Shadow Competition: The Chinese showed the latest invisible CM-98 missile

Chinese development is inferior to Western analogues for the lesion and mass of the combat part. However, as experts noted, this is offset by a unique set of characteristics, and above all stealth. At the Airshow China 2024, the Chinese Aerospace Science and Industry (CASIC), the Chinese Corporation of Aerospace and Industry (CASIC) has introduced the latest multi-purpose CM-98 Stealth Air-Earth Stealth missile.

In exclusive material, Army Recognition, this missile can become a competitor of Western counterparts, such as US AGM-158 Jassm and European Storm Shadow/Scalp, and aims to interest foreign users. Chinese winged air base rocket is intended for high -precision damage to strategic terrestrial and maritime goals in the conditions of active counteraction to air defense and radio electronic struggle.

The observers note that CM-98 demonstrates advanced stealth technologies and high maneuverability, which provides minimal radar visibility and flexibility when choosing trajectories. For high-performance, the warhead weight is at least 385 kg, which is still less than the 450-pounds of European Storm Shadow.

Having a maximum range of 298 km, CM-98 allows aircraft to hit goals from a long distance, reducing the risk to the starting platform and allowing strokes outside the zones of direct air defense. At the same time, the British counterpart is far superior to the Chinese sample - up to 560 km, however, according to experts, this is offset by a unique set of characteristics.

It is noted that an important element of the rocket is the use of radio electronic interference protection technologies, which guarantees reliability and accuracy of guidance even in the face of active counteraction from the enemy. In addition, the stels-characteristics CM-98 allegedly provide low visibility for radars, and thoughtful aerodynamics allows you to flexibly choose a trajectory of flight, bypassing areas of high risk.

Also a feature of CM-98 is its adaptation to the current conditions of combat. The rocket is able to operate around the clock and in all weather conditions, and its thoughtful design makes maintenance and preparation for combat use as simple as possible. It should be noted that theoretically the Chinese rocket looks truly a formidable weapon, but is inferior to Western analogues for impressive opportunities and range.
