The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received a batch of upgraded AK-12: which improved in Kalashnikov (video)

The decision to modernize the machine was made on the basis of reviews on its operation in the troops. In total, seven major improvements were made in the 2023 machine. Kalashnikov concern reported the supply of a new batch of AK-12 machines to the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Despite the fact that the details of the supply are not disclosed, the company emphasized that the state defense for 2024 was already performed by 65%.

This was reported with reference to Russian sources on August 6 by Bulgarian Militation. It is noted that the decision to modernize the machine was made on the basis of feedback on its operation in the troops. The modernized version of the machine was refined on the basis of data obtained from the Northern Military District. Thus, in May 2023, a new AK-12 model was presented, and after completing comprehensive tests, the weapon began to come to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in May.

The design was refined with seven significant changes, including the cancellation of two shots, simplifying the scheme of assembly and disassembling weapons, more ergonomic bed and the front of the barrel box. The fuse, the dioptric sight of the new structure and a fixed muzzle device was also changed. The Kalashnikov AK-12 machine is a modernized version of the iconic AK-47, designed to increase reliability, accuracy and ergonomics.

The main characteristics of the AK-12: AK-12 is equipped with a mode of selection of fire, which allows to switch between semi-automatic and automatic modes. Compatibility with different types of ammunition, including standard charges, track, armor -piercing and idle cartridges, which makes it universal for different combat situations and educational purposes.
