This was due to the fact that Russian invaders raped Ukrainian women, and because of the war many Ukrainian women in the early stages of pregnancy refused to give birth. As of mid -April, as the gynecologist Galina Magnist explained, tablets for termination of pregnancy, such as "Mifepriston" and "Mizostrostol", Ukrainian doctors had little because of problems with logistics. It was also a problem with hospital abortion because the hospitals were crowded with wounded military and civilians.

Inquiries for abortions have increased continuously. In Kiev alone, according to one of the doctors, the demand for pregnancy interruption increased 3-5 times. In mid -April, enough drugs "Mifepriston" and "Mizoprostol", known as "MIFE" and "Mizo", have already appeared in Ukraine. Their reception in the first days of pregnancy provokes the rejection of the fetus. At the same time, the circulation of such drugs is strictly controlled, especially during transportation across the border.

The drugs were also imported to Ukraine through Poland, and because they were banned in the neighboring country, they were placed in garbage bags. The African medication dealer, a German doctor and a volunteer from Ukraine were involved in such an "operation". The German medical officer who participated in this adventure, through thousands of smuggling pills for Ukrainian women, was risked by the loss of a doctoral license, moreover, she was threatened with a prison term.

Ukrainian officials decided not to resort to the help of Ukrainian officials, as it was important to bring these drugs as soon as possible, and the requests from those who need them were increasing continuously.
