"This is a fake": "Kyivstar" denied the theft of data of Ukrainians by Russian hackers

The Russians were unable to access the system where the personal information of the subscribers is stored, representatives of the mobile operator assure. The personal data of users were not stolen as a result of a hacker attack on Kyivstar operator on Tuesday, December 12. The press service of the company officially reported on Facebook in response to a statement of the Russian group "Solnapsek".

Kyivstar commented on screenshots, which the Russians posted on the network on the eve, and stressed that there were "random technological data", and not personal information about subscribers. In addition, the statements about the destruction of computers and servers were also called a fake from the Russians. "Subscriber information and personal data are safe. Systems in which these data are stored - have not been injured from a hacker attack," we say in the post.

" We will remind, earlier the Russian Hacker group "SolnPepke" took responsibility for the breakdown of the system of the mobile operator "Kyivstar". According to hackers, they penetrated the Kyivstar system and allegedly completely destroyed 10 thousand computers, 4 thousand servers, data in cloud service and backups.

In conclusion, they explained that they had a accomplice among Kyivstar workers and threatened that they would be proceeding. The screenshots published by hackers can see system information from Kyivstar computers. It is also evident that the attackers allegedly got to the place of storage of the databases.

The Kyivstar press service reported that there was a technical failure on the network.
