Minsk wants to be a mediator in the negotiations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, but there is a condition - the head of the Foreign Ministry of RB

In Belarus, they want the final peace arrangements within the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine take into account its interests. The official Minsk is ready to become a third party in peace talks of Ukraine and Russia. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus made Vladimir Makey on Thursday, September 22, speaking at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

According to the chief diplomat of Belarus, his country did and continues to do everything possible to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, which he called the conflict. Makey believes that it is possible to stop the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine only at the table of negotiations. And the official Minsk is ready to become a mediator in such negotiations.

At the same time, Belarus is ready to take an active part in future negotiations only if the final peace agreements will take into account its interests. As an argument, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RB cited the fact that in 2014, Belarus had already provided Ukraine and Russia with a negotiation platform in Minsk for regulation of diplomatic ways of hostilities in the Donbass.

Makey also said that Belarus allegedly offered her assistance in the settlement of a conflict situation during the Revolution of Dignity, and was ready to organize direct negotiations of Kyiv and Moscow at the beginning of the war. However, Ukraine refused such proposals. In addition, the chief diplomat of Belarus stated that his country in the international arena was considered as a supporter of the aggressor state.

According to him, the republic has never advocated the war, but has allied obligations to the Russian Federation and does not want to "be a traitor". We will remind, earlier the chief diplomat of Russia Sergey Lavrov in the UN called Ukraine a totalitarian state of the Nazi direction. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation believes that in Ukraine, people who speak Russian and destroy books printed in Russian.
