The satellite shot revealed the process of preparing the Russian nuclear missile P-30 "Mace"

This is one of the rare cases where the work of the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the maintenance of nuclear weapons and does not usually allow the leakage of such information, is recorded. The network has a satellite image that shows the process of preparation and equipment of the intercontinental ballistic missile P-30 "Mace", which is one of the key components of the nuclear arsenal of Russia.

This rocket is placed on atomic underwater cruisers of the project 955 "Bore" and plays an important role in the nuclear triad of the Russian Federation, reports Defense Express. The material noted that the first to draw attention to Russian profile sources, which also indicated that the picture recorded the work of the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

This service is responsible for maintaining nuclear weapons and usually does not allow such leaks into the public space. The fact of the appearance of such a satellite image can be called an unusual event, since previously preparatory work on Russian ballistic missiles capable of carrying a nuclear charge, practically did not get into open access.

The picture probably shows a transport and power container with a P-30 "Mace", which is released in gray, as well as several machines of various purposes, which allows to identify the place as a zone of weapons training for underwater cruisers. Interestingly, the Russian military did not take steps to mask the work, clearly demonstrating the process of preparation of the IBRD maritime base.

On the one hand, this approach can testify to the elements of psychological pressure on "unfriendly countries". On the other hand, the emergence of these images can mean some "mutualness" - Western countries regularly monitor Russian nuclear activity with satellites, and Russia may not deliberately conceal such operations in response.

"It was about strategic nuclear weapons, but it is quite logical to assume that similar work at the airfields of the strategic aviation of the Russian Federation are also under the dense supervision of satellites of the West," experts said. Recall that the US Defense Defense has published a report called "Nuclear Challenges. The growing capabilities of strategic development competitors and regional rivals". It gave a detailed list of major enterprises that provide the Russian nuclear program.
