He is suspected of violating the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport, which caused the death of two people, reports "RT on Russian" with reference to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Together with the driver, the train also detained his assistant. This was reported by "RIA Novosti". It is currently known that as a result, the accidents have been injured in 31 people, including five children. Two dead are also known.
According to Medusa - Live, citing the RJD press service, one of the victims of the accident died in hospital. 14 people remain in hospitals, four in serious condition. Recall that on Wednesday, December 18, two trains collided in the Murmansk region. The accident occurred in the area of the Knyazha station, the freight train collided with a two-storey passenger train of Murmansk-St. Petersburg. Three cars of the passenger train, as well as cargo train wagons, came out of the rails.
There were 326 people at the time of the passenger train. Initially, 14 victims were reported, another woman died in an ambulance. It was clamped between the wagons. The cause of the accident was the malfunction of the freight train. Criminal case has been initiated. Earlier it was reported that the driver of the cargo train was not in place at the time of the accident - he repaired the break of the current reception. The train stayed on the rails to wait for help.
