The occupiers have installed BPP-1 combat module on the Polish BMP in the field (video)

The module installation is a cheap modification, which significantly increases the capabilities of the armored vehicle. Thus, the Polish BWP-1 was processed at Basurmanin BMP-1am with a 30-mm automatic 2A72 gun. On social networks there was a video that recorded the process of installing the tower module of BPP-1 on the enthusiastic machine of BMP-1 enthusiastically captured in the Ukrainian military.

This step, apparently, testifies to the possibilities of Russian field repair facilities in carrying out simple modernization of military equipment. This was written by the Polish Defense Observer 24 Adam Svirkovsky. Armored vehicles are probably BWP-1 of Polish origin, which indicates the use of such machines in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. How many cars of this type were transferred to Ukraine is unknown, but according to various estimates - up to several hundred units.

It is noted that the deserted tower module of BPP-1 was probably removed from a damaged machine, for example, the BTR-82A, which allows to quickly restore the performance of the combat vehicle. Thus, the Polish BWP-1 was reworked at the Basurmanin BMP-1am, replacing the old tower with 73 mm gun 2A28 "Grimm" with a deserted BPPU-1 combat module.

It is equipped with a universal TKN-4H-01 sight with a night vision and a laser rangefinder, as well as armed with a stabilized 30mm automatic 2A72 gun and a 7. 62 mm PKTM machine gun with it. In addition to the new weapons, a new radio station, the navigation system and the UTD-20C1 Russian production engine were used. "Installation of the BTR-82A tower on BMP-1 is a cheap modification, which significantly increases the capacity of the machine.

The mass of the BPPU-1 tower is approximately 1700 kg, which allows to preserve both the buoyancy and other technical characteristics of the machine,"-writes the observer. At the same time, Svirkovsky emphasized that the problem remains the poor armoredness of the BMP, which was not improved as part of this modernization. Earlier it was reported that in the United States Bae Systems showed a prototype of a promising multi -purpose armored machine (AMPV).
