During the meeting in Sochi, the presidents discussed a number of topics: from bilateral cooperation to wars in Ukraine, Nagorno -Karabakh and Syria. The parties also agreed that Ankara would pay in rubles for Russian gas. The talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan ended in Sochi. The Russian president thanked Erdogan for his efforts aimed at opening a "grain corridor" from Ukraine, and he also hopes that the Turkish leader will agree to develop trade and economic relations with Russia. In response, Erdogan said that the parties should "open a new page in collaboration" and stressed that it is very important to prevent failures in the construction of NPPs "Akkui", which is being built on the Russian project.

On the eve of the start of the negotiations of The Washington Post, citing sources in Ukrainian intelligence, Putin intends to ask Erdogan to help bypass Western sanctions in banking, energy and industrial sectors. We will remind, Erdogan arrived in Sochi together with foreign ministers, energy, finance, defense, agriculture and trade, as well as other officials. Putin and Erdogan met on July 19 in Iran.
