US Air Force want to get 1000 jet UAVs: Why CCA Drones Military Drones

Collaborative Combat Aircraft drones should be involved in operations with F-35 and B-21 aircraft, performing tasks for support and protection of crew machines. In the next 5 years, the US Air Force is planning to receive at least 1000 Reactive UAVs created under Loyal Wingman. Their main task will be to cover the pilot F-35 Lightning II fighters and promising strategic B-21 Raider bombers. This was reported on March 3 by The Wall Street Journal.

The material states that the development of Loyal Wingman is due to the increasing cost of available military aircraft and software progress. Therefore, the Air Force intends to move to a new generation of drone to strengthen their fleet. It is noted that jet UAVs will accompany and protect the aircraft with a crew, such as F-35 and a new B-21 bomber, carry their own weapons to attack other aircraft and purposes on Earth, as well as act as intelligence and communication units in the sky .

Reductors known as Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) are part of a $ 6 billion in the program, which is involved in Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. Viewers write that the US Air Force already have unmanned systems that successfully perform a number of combat missions. However, larger versions, equipped with jet engines, are seen as critical to overcome great distances in the western Pacific.

"They can be a lot of things that traditional crew fighters are simply not calculated," said Air Force Minister Frank Kendall. In addition to other features, such as the ability to move up to 600 miles per hour, CCA will be equipped with artificial intelligence technology.

At the same time, the developers will seek to create a relatively inexpensive platform, since the reactive UAVs are intended for use, when necessary, to perform one or possibly several flights - this makes it possible to use less expensive details to create them. Earlier it was reported that the US Air Force wants to get Collaborative Combat Aircraft in five years in five years. The main purpose of the project is to increase the efficiency of aircraft missions through synergy with a drone.
