Ministry Defense Develops Poncho for the Armed Forces to make soldiers invisible to thermal imagers

Five samples are now being tested. Materials for the manufacture of fabric capes should be flexible and resistant to the environment. In Ukraine, they develop a cape (poncho), which will make the fighters of defense forces invisible to thermal imagers and night vision devices. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is reported that the Central Department of Development and Supporting Fundamental Support is reported. Five samples are now being tested.

"It is expected that it will absorb infrared radiation. In case of successful completion of developments, this product will help the Ukrainian military remain unnoticed for enemy thermal imagers and night vision devices," the Defense Ministry noted.

The department also stated that the materials for the manufacture of fabric of cape should be flexible and resistant to the environment: "The specificity is that we need to create material that absorbs infrared radiation and will have low thermal conductivity. Our goal is as securely masked by military and equipment The enemy, " - said Deputy Minister of Defense Vitaliy Polovenko.

The Defense Ministry also noted that since the beginning of 2024, six advanced clothing samples have already been approved in the Central Administration. It is about winter gloves, jackets, warmed pants, thermal underwear and T -shirts. Earlier, the French Minister of Defense stated that Ukraine would receive French Dron-Kamikadze for checking in battle. Drops have been developing from May 2022, and now the Ukrainian military will be the first to put them in practice against the occupiers.
