"Key Moment": Austin urged allies to increase weapons supply to Ukraine

According to Pentagon head, Russian President Vladimir Putin has no right to decide how to move borders and to annex his neighbor's territory. The United States and Union countries need to increase weapons supply to Ukraine. The head of Pentagon Lloyd Austin announced this during a briefing. He expressed the opinion that the war in Ukraine has now entered "a key stage", so the Armed Forces should receive more weapons. "We need to do more in this direction.

There is a key point (in the war), and Ukraine needs to replenish our arms reserves," he stressed. At the same time, Austin stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has no right to set the conditions for peace. "It is just a behavior that we do not want to see. We do not want to see the leader of a country decide that he wants to move the borders and annex his neighbor's territory," Austin said. It is known that in May 2024 Russia launched a new offensive in the Kharkiv region.

On May 10, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched shelling of positions of the Ukrainian army in the direction of Vovchansk, trying to break through the line of defense. This offensive is part of a broader Russia strategy aimed at creating a buffer zone along the border to protect its territory from possible Ukrainian attacks. On June 13, Lloyd Austin stated that the partners of Ukraine, who gathered at the next meeting of the Ramstein Ramstein format, intend to continue support.
