Europe should be prepared for the 10 years of war: Stoltenberg told about the conditions of peace in Ukraine

The more Europe supports Ukraine, the faster the war will end, the current NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. On the other hand, the longer the war, the more likely the Russian is to win. Russian President Vladimir Putin is convinced that time is on his side. Therefore, European countries should keep in mind that the Russian-Ukrainian war can last 10 years. Its duration depends on how long and how much Europeans will support Ukrainians.

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told about the duration of the war and the conditions of the war in an interview with BBC. Stoltenberg, talking about the war in Europe, answered the direct question of the journalist. The journalist wondered if the "conflict in Ukraine" would last 10 years. He heard the laconic answer "yes". At the same time, the NATO Secretary General substantiated its position, referring to the paradox.

In his view, on the one hand, the speed of end of war depends on the force with which Europeans will support Ukraine. On the other hand, Putin is convinced that if he wages a long war, he will win. "The paradox is that President Putin now thinks he can wait for us. Therefore, the war is ongoing," he said. The NATO head also recalled that a special coordination center will be established in Germany in Germany.

The task of this center is to ensure "predictability, accountability and support", as well as "unchanged obligation". He also touched the question of Donald Trump's arrival in the White House. First of all, the official is convinced that it is not in the interest of the US to give up NATO. In addition, Trump will benefit the countries of Europe and Canada: they will finally strengthen their defense and start spending more than 2% of the budget on it.

"In the interests of US security, have a strong NATO," said Stoltenberg BBC. It should be noted that for more than two years of a full-scale invasion of NATO, which considerations of Ukraine and wars with the Russian Federation-Madrid in October 2022, Vilnius in July 2023 and Washington in July 2024. .

As a result, within six months of 2024, 23 security agreements were concluded: the signatories promised that they would provide military assistance, teach fighters, establish the work of the military-industrial complex. In addition, the Ukrainians heard that they would create a "bridge to NATO", but there would be no entry until the war is underway.
