Modernization covers the improvement of capacity and flight range - the machine is able to raise 1814 kg more. The largest manufacturer of aviation equipment Boeing in the framework of the modernization of the US Army has staged the first CH-47F Block II Chinook helicopter. This machine is one of the 465 that will be upgraded to the new Block II configuration, Defense Industry Europe reported July 1.

Vice president Giser Macbrayan said that CH-47F Block II provides improvement of opportunities, enabling the US Army to "lift more, fly on and serve their aircraft better than ever before. " According to her, this modernization program enables Chinook to play a key role in many domain operations in the future. First of all, the helicopter has improved the load capacity and flight range: as a result of modernization, the machine can raise 4,000 pounds (1814 kg) more.

Also, the new variant has an extended radius-the helicopter can fly further with almost any amount. The CH-47F BLOCK II helicopter has received an advanced transmission that provides more efficient power transmission. The reinforced glider increases the strength and durability of the structure. And the improved fuel system increases efficiency and reduces the frequency of maintenance.
