Russian money will go to military assistance to Ukraine: the EU has made decisions on assets of the Russian Federation

The head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel stated that next month, an unforeseen profit of 1. 4 billion euros would be made, and by the end of the year - another 1 billion euros. EU governments have agreed to use 1. 4 billion euros of profit from Russian frozen assets to supply weapons and other assistance to Ukraine. Reuters writes about it. According to journalists, such a decision prompted Hungary to accuse other EU members of a "shameless" violation of the rules.

It is reported that in May, EU members have already decided to use profit from frozen assets in the EU to assist Ukraine, with 90% of the funds will be directed to military assistance. But Hungary delays the adoption of the necessary legal measures. The material states that Hungary maintains warmer relations with Moscow. It does not supply weapons to Ukraine, and Prime Minister Victor Orban criticized other EU and NATO members.

At the meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, the chief diplomat of the Union of Josep Borrel said that the usual unanimity to make foreign policy decisions was not needed, since Hungary has abandoned the previous decisions that underlie this scheme. "Now we will accelerate without allowing this lock," Borrel said. He said next month an unforeseen profit of 1. 4 billion euros would be made and another 1 billion euros by the end of the year.

The funds will be assisted by Ukrainian troops with air defense, ammunition and support for the Ukrainian industry. The material states that the EU Government has supported this plan in the Committee of Military Aid. At the same time, the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Petr Siyarto called such a decision "red line". But Siyarto was much louder on Facebook.
