Biolaboratories and shutdown of light: As the Russians try to manipulate the thoughts of Odessa residents

For a long time, the Putin propaganda is actively trying to influence the inhabitants of the southern regions of Ukraine, in particular - Odessa and residents of the region. The fakes spread everywhere, but they have gained special scope in anonymous telegrams. The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security writes about it.

In particular, it was created a "horror story" that there is a whole business in Odessa that gathers biomaterial from the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and sends it to Lviv. The bodies of the military are burned. In order to fully discredit the army, stories about "raids" and "hiding" from mobilization are added. "Odesa freezes, dies without light and communication - everything is very bad," the authors of anonymous channels say.

They blame power of helplessness, and DTEK in incompetence. The causes of electricity shutdowns are not the cynical shelling of infrastructure by the Russians, but the answer to Ukraine's actions. Kremlin messages are also spreading that electricity is allegedly sold to the countries of the West. Repeatedly, the mayor of Odessa, the head of the military-civilian administration, her spokesman, and, of course, the President of Ukraine and the First Lady occurred.

The narrative is moving that Ukraine is allegedly a very poor country. Officials and representatives of energy companies are called a variety of contemptible words. Increasing cases of investigations of anti -corruption bodies are highlighted. Patriotism of Odessa manipulators also try to suppress. They ignite negative emotions to the people of Kyivans and Lviv, which are allegedly more pro -Ukrainian.

Of course, the authors of the channels play the language issue and try to present the situation as powerful oppression of the Russian language. Often, stories that are allegedly transmitted on the principle of "from mouth to mouth" are invented. According to one of the "legends", in the village in the Odessa region several people from volunteer formations of territorial communities quarreled with each other at a checkpoint, and then broke into some substation and the settlement was without light.

Such stories try to humiliate Ukrainian defenders. Although, for example, this "legend" is a lie from the first to the last word - in the said village there are no checkpoints and volunteer formations. "Putin's intelligence services are trying to use the theme of love of Odessa in their city, regional patriotism to provoke anti-Ukrainian sentiment to try to create a 5th column.
