Switzerland wants to represent the diplomatic interests of Ukraine in the Russian Federation - the Foreign Ministry of the Country

Due to the fact that there are no diplomatic relations between the two states now, the Swiss side can take over the mandate of patronage in Russia. Now Moscow has to give its consent to it. Switzerland is ready to represent the diplomatic interests of Ukraine in the Russian Federation. This was stated in a comment to the Russian Agency Tarsa Agency by Swiss Foreign Ministry Pierre Alen Elchinger. He explained that it was a "mandate of the patron.

" This means that Switzerland could represent the diplomatic interests of Ukraine in Russia, since there are now no diplomatic relations between the two countries. "Ukraine wanted Switzerland to take over the mandate of the patron saint in Russia. The corresponding negotiations are completed," the diplomat said in particular. According to Elchinger, the Swiss side actively offered its "good services" to both states.

In particular, Bern was ready to take on the role of the receiving and meetings, as well as to support and expert contributions during the negotiations. In order for the mandate to come into force, the Russian Federation must give its consent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland specified. The press service of the Russian Embassy in Switzerland, for its part, reported that the Russian side has no contact with the official authorities of the Confederation on this issue.

"As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov emphasized, Russia is not ready to consider proposals for mediation in negotiations with Ukraine from the countries that have joined anti -Russian sanctions," the press service added. In March this year, the government of the aggressor country included Switzerland in its "list of unfriendly countries".

"In this context, it is difficult to talk about any mediation of Bern in the Ukrainian direction," the press service said. We will remind, Switzerland has approved a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. New measures are primarily concerned with the prohibition on the purchase, import or transportation of gold and products from Russia. The services related to these goods are also prohibited.
