According to AFP news agency employees, the terrain near the temporal ravine was fired from Russian positions by two shells that produced small balls of burning white phosphorus. On the eve of March 15, during the shelling of the city of time ravine in Donetsk region, shells with white phosphorus flew from Russian positions, reported by journalists of the France-Press agency, who were on the spot.

According to news agency staff, two shells were released at an interval of five minutes uninhabited by the city near the city of Yar. Witnesses heard the whistling sound of the shells and saw the gaps of ammunition that produced small balls of white phosphorus. These balls lit vegetation on both sides of the road, the area of ​​ignition - about the football field. According to AFP journalists, the nearest homes were 200 meters from the fired area.

Phosphorus ammunition is a kind of inflammatory ammunition with white phosphorus or mixtures based on it. The combustion temperature of white phosphorus can reach 1300 ° C, in its abundantly, thick white smoke is released. The combustion continues until the whole substance is burned, or oxygen is stopped. Burn -in white phosphorus skin causes severe burns. Inhalation of phosphorus vapor, as with contact with the gastrointestinal tract, acute poisoning occurs.

The use of phosphorus ammunition against civilians is prohibited by the Geneva Convention, but their use against the enemy's army is not banned. The journalists could not confirm whether the fired object was in the area under the control of the Ukrainian forces. Representatives of Ukraine have repeatedly accused the Russian Federation for the use of phosphorus bombs, in particular against civilians. Moscow, for its part, categorically rejects all the accusations against its address.
