Unique unit: NATO troops will destroy the enemy's air defense drones mini-Harpy (video)

Estonia's servicemen decided to take the experience of the Ukrainian army and use special drones designed to search for anti -aircraft systems. The Estonian Army will soon create a unit designed only for blows to the enemy Kamikadze drones and will first purchase the MINI-Harpy UAV from the Israeli company IAI. This was stated in an interview with Defense One Major Estonia by Estonia Andrei Shlabovich.

According to him, this will be the first unit of this kind in NATO, whose members use the experience of Ukrainian military who destroy Russian air defense systems with the help of barrading ammunition. The Estonian unit will be instructed to eliminate the enemy's anti-aircraft missile installations. To do this, the fighters will equip the israel Aerospace Industries drones, specially designed for the search for anti -aircraft systems through radar.

Andriy Shlabovich stated that Estonia will use Drons-Kamikadze Mini-Harpy. The Estonian military emphasized that, in addition to the success of the Armed Forces in the fight against the Air Defense of the Russian invaders, the idea of creating such a unit was supported by the successful elimination of Armenia's air defense drops of Azerbaijan in Nagorny Karabas. Azerbaijan used the ISRAEL AEROSPACE Industries Bargage Auns to destroy the C-300 Armenian anti-aircraft anti-aircraft systems.

The Harpy drone is programmed to a standalone flight, but after starting, the operator can monitor the location and condition, setting new coordinates, switching modes or canceling the attack as needed. Estonia also studies in Ukraine a lot, said Major. He noted that the members of Estonia, the military reserve, went as civilians to Ukraine to study from the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces.

One of the main lessons that military Estonia was made from the experience of Ukrainian colleagues is the importance of secrecy on the battlefield. The Estonia's Land Forces are already learning how not to be seen drones. The thick forests of the Baltic country are especially useful for the shelter of soldiers, added Shlabovich. Major stated that the number of drones is more important than their quality, especially given the limited defense budget of Estonia.
