These weapons are designed to defeat live power, light vehicles and unnecessary goals. This was announced on January 23 by the press service of the company. The RPL-7 uses the standard 7. 62 mm of the type of sample of 1943, including conventional assholes with a steel core (57-N-231) and trace (T-45 or T-45M).
At the same time, the machine gun demonstrates versatility due to the possibility of installing optical, night and thermal imaging sights, as well as maintaining additional accessories, such as targets, lanterns and front handles. One of the key advantages, according to the developers, is the ambidexster design: the machine gun is suitable for both shulga and right -handed, which improves its ergonomics in combat.
The weapon is also equipped with a removable bipod, a low -noise shooting device (muffler) and a carrying belt, which makes it convenient in operation. Commenting on the model, Army Recognition reviewers note that the RPL-7 is designed for support units and is able to adapt to different conditions of terrain and combat operations. Thanks to the modern setup and low weight capabilities, this machine gun will be a valuable asset in tactical operations that require high mobility and rapid reaction.
Meanwhile, Kalashnikov probably sought to create a hand -held machine gun, focused on the task of melee and support of mobile units in situations where the use of the same PCM is complicated. This is evidenced by the type of ammunition used (7. 62 × 39 mm versus 7. 62 × 54 mm in PKM), as well as less weight by 2 kg.
At the same time, PCM, being heavier, is intended for longer and more intense combat operations, and the target range of firing is higher (1500 m versus 800 m in the RLL-7), which makes it better for medium and long distances. We will remind, in August last year the Kalashnikov concern demonstrated a new 5,45 mm handmade machine gun RLL-20 with ribbon power.
