Would be useful against the Black Sea Fleet: Taiwan developed a submarine drone Smart Dragon with torpedoes (photo, video)

The Taiwanese military industry has released the Smart Dragon underwater drone with torpedo machines that would be needed against the Black Sea Fleet. The submarine drone with Huilong or Smart Dragon Taiwan Development was posted in open access. The device is undergoing maintenance after the next stage of running tests. About it writes The War Zone. The main element of the Smart Dragon weapons is two torpedo devices for launching torpedo or mines.

It is reported that the work on the creation of the Smart Dragon underwater drone began in 2020. It is a fairly large apparatus: 100 tons, 30 meters in length and 6 meters wide. Ukrainian Analysts from Defense Express note that, according to Taiwan Ministry of Defense, Smart Dragon has no power plant, and it can only go to the sea under the tugboat.

"But at the same time on the housing of the submarine, you can see the controls of management and other elements that indicate the opposite, namely: here it is a completely autonomous unmanned submarine," - reads in the publication. There is another detail. Taiwan's military leadership states that he is working on Smart Dragon for "research tasks", such as testing of hydroacoustic equipment. But another "inconsistency" is why there are torpedo devices on the underwater drone.

The authors of the publication suggest that Smart Dragon can accommodate 2-4 crew people. Taiwan is betting on creating a "classic" underwater fleet. In addition, such an underwater apparatus was appropriate in the defense forces of Ukraine, to counteract the surface ships and submarines of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. Recall that in Ukraine they created a "smart" prosthesis that controls the drone.
