The Kharkiv scientist, along with the expatriate, worked on the improvement of Shahanedov for the Russian Federation - the SBU

The scientist, living in Kharkiv, developed drawings for the Russians and sent them online. Its purpose was to upgrade engines and catapult installations. A local scientist was detained in Kharkiv, who helped the enemy in improving the Shahd Dron-Kamikadze. The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine shared the details on October 30. The 72-year-old Mechanical scientist from Kharkiv worked on the military-industrial complex of Russia.

He designed the drawings at the order of the aggressor country to improve Shahda. In particular, the scientist tried to upgrade engines and catapults. The Kharkiv resident was remotely conveyed to a friend who works as a CEO of one of the Russian machine -building plants. There are units for drones. The enterprise "works closely" with a company that has been manufactured by the UAV type Shahd since 2023, marking them under the name "Geran-2".

The scientist has been contacted by e -mail and through the messenger with Russian accomplices. At the same time, he was masked as a preparation of scientific works in the field of drones. The man even involved a former student who fled from Kharkiv region to Russia at the beginning of a full -scale war. The expatriate was settled at the Moscow University of Technology, where he is engaged in the development of drones for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The scientist was detained at the place of residence. During the searches, he was seized a computer, phone and flash carrier with evidence. The Kharkiv resident was warned of suspicion of aiding and abetting the aggressor state. He is now in custody, he is threatened with 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. "In addition, it is planned to report in absentia the suspicion of the accomplice - a former student of Kharkiv university, who is hiding in Russia," - added to the SBU.
